TIME & ACTION PLAN

BayQuest will endeavor to create a measured time/action plan for each phase of our operation. Careful consideration will be given to the launch of each program to ensure attainable objectives and measured results. Following is a preliminary plan we envision at the pre-launch phase.

3 - 6 Months

Vessel Acquisition; equipment installation; certification, sea trials; training and marina assignment. Organizational structure; Board Development; bylaws; administration set-up; applications and certifications. Sponsorship outreach.

Begin Whale Monitoring program in collaboration with 2-3 conservation organizations targeting San Francisco Bay and near coastal waters. Website design/development. Press/media.

Launch BayQuest Warriors for Environmental Justice program with public outreach to education institutions in underserved communities. Launch newsletter/highlight findings & accomplishments.

1 Year

Expand outreach and partnerships with other conservation/research organizations. Launch sea lion/harbor seal/harbor porpoise monitoring program. Launch sea duck/waterfowl monitoring program. Expand crew/membership outreach. Expand Warriors program.
Publish observations & findings (ongoing)

Year-end review, improvement of programs.

2 Year

Continue collaboration and outreach with the scientific community. Launch water sampling/testing program. Create open source data sharing platform. Explore electrification of/zero emission vessel propulsion system.

3 Year

Acquire/build new research vessel with more scientific equipment and passenger capacity to help facilitate “classroom at sea” environment for crew/citizen scientists. Explore zero emission vessel propulsion system alternatives.

4 - 5 Year

Evaluate all programs, identify areas for improvement. Vessel overhaul/evaluation. Create a forward plan.
